AI Product Management

AI has rewritten what a product manager has to know. Shipping a feature is no longer the hard part — deciding what's worth building, whether a model can actually do it, and how to keep it reliable and safe is. AI product management is the discipline of turning AI capability into products people trust.

Who it's for

  • Product managers who need to lead AI features and roadmaps with confidence.
  • Founders defining an AI product and deciding what to build first.
  • Designers, analysts, and ops leads moving into product roles around AI.
  • Engineers who want to own the "what" and "why", not just the "how".

Prerequisite: some exposure to how products get built, in any industry. No ML background needed.

What you'll build

A complete AI product package for a real opportunity — problem, PRD, experience design, eval and safety plan, and a go-to-market and metrics plan. The artifact you'd put in front of a hiring manager or an exec.

What you'll learn

  • Tell the difference between what AI can reliably do and what it can't — before you commit a roadmap to it.
  • Write specs, PRDs, and eval criteria for AI features that engineers can actually build against.
  • Design AI product experiences that handle uncertainty, error, and trust.
  • Make the cost, latency, safety, and quality trade-offs that decide whether an AI product ships.
  • Work fluently with AI engineers, architects, and evaluators.
  1. 01
    The AI product landscape
What today's models can and can't do, where value actually lives, and how to spot an AI product worth building.
  2. 02
    Discovery and scoping for AI
From problem to opportunity to a scoped AI feature. Feasibility with engineers. Writing the AI PRD.
  3. 03
    Designing AI experiences
Interaction patterns for probabilistic systems — handling wrong answers, setting expectations, human-in-the-loop.
  4. 04
Quality, evals, and safety as product work
Defining "good enough to ship", working with evals, and owning safety and risk as a PM.
  5. 05
Cost, latency, and the economics of AI
The trade-offs behind every AI decision, and how to reason about unit economics.
  6. 06
    Launch, measure, iterate
Rollout strategy, metrics that matter for AI, and improving a live product. Capstone assembly.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need to be technical?
No, but you'll get technical enough to hold your own with engineers. This makes you fluent, not a coder.
I'm already a PM — is this too basic?
No. It assumes product fundamentals and focuses entirely on what changes when AI enters the picture.
Does this pair with other courses?
Yes. AI Product Management and AI Architect are the two roles the catalog is built around. Many learners take Vibe Coding first, or AI Evals alongside.

Lead the AI products people trust.
