Backend Development

Our intensive Backend Software Development Course (Web Development using Python & Django) is a 12-week program designed to take you from core programming concepts to architecting, securing, and deploying scalable web applications.

In this course you will master Python programming, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), database modeling, SQL/QuerySets, REST API development using Django REST Framework, user authentication, and cloud deployment. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to pivot into backend engineering, Univelcity provides expert mentorship and real-world project building to help you launch a successful career in tech.

Who it's for

Anyone ready to build the systems that power real applications.

  • Beginners starting a career in software engineering.
  • Frontend developers who want to own the full stack.
  • Developers who know some Python and want to build production APIs.

What you'll build

A complete, deployed backend system you can show anywhere.

A production-grade REST APIs built with Django and Django REST Framework with authentication, a real database, and a deployed live endpoint and documented as a portfolio case study.

Architecting and building a full-featured capstone web backend (such as an e-commerce platform or admin dashboard), code reviews, and graduation.

Course Prerequisites

  • Prior Programming Knowledge: None strictly required. The curriculum is structured to guide complete beginners through core logic up to advanced backend engineering.

  • Computer Literacy: Basic ability to operate a computer, manage file systems, and navigate the web.

  • Hardware Requirements: A functional laptop running Windows, macOS, or Linux with a minimum of 8GB RAM (16GB recommended) and reliable storage.

  • Schedule & Commitment: Availability to attend live classes twice weekly (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM) and commit additional weekly hours to coding assignments and project builds.

  • Mindset: Logical thinking habits, attention to detail, persistence in troubleshooting code, and a passion for building server-side applications.
